Summer Learning Journey - Week 1 Day 1 Activity 2

Task - Activity 2
On Google, research the country that you have chosen to visit and write, in your own words, three interesting facts about that country. They must be facts that weren’t already provided on the World Map.
Facts:

  1. Japan suffers 1,500 earthquakes every year.
  2. Square Watermelons are grown by Japanese farmers for easier stack and store.
  3. Japan has 5.52 million vending machines.

  1. Hi Caroline it's Von,

I like your facts, that's sad that the earthquake strikes Japan every year:( Imagine all the beautiful buildings in Japan broke down, what a disappointment. Anyways Great work and keep it up:)

  2. Hello Caroline
Great blogpost about your recent task. Von pointed this fact out, its really unfortunate that Japan suffers from 1,500 Earthquakes ( The number is astonishing). I love your second fact about Square Watermelons ( I would like to eat one, Is it the same?). Great work Caroline.

  4. Good morning Caroline,

Great fact finding! I agree with Von and Leopote, it's very sad that they suffer so many earthquakes. I think a lot of people in the South Island would be able to sympathise with them after all of the earthquakes they've had there in the past few years.

5.52 million vending machines? Wow! That's more than New Zealand's entire population. Did you know you can buy things like umbrellas, toasted sandwiches, or even fish soup from their vending machines?? That's a bit different to the ones we have over here.

Keep up the awesome work Caroline, and don't forget to check out your friends blogs too!

    Dan.
