Day 6 - Bonus

Day 6 - BONUS

BONUS - Imagine that you are sitting in the crowd at the opening ceremonies for the Rio Olympics this August. The ceremony has just started and all of the Olympic athletes are parading around the stadium in their uniforms when all of a sudden…

In your blog, write an ending to this short story. It should be approximately 10-20 sentences long.

I hear the New Zealand supporters cheering with excitement as New Zealand was leading the ceremony in. With excitement I also joined in cheering for the entrance of the New Zealand athletes. New Zealand was very easily spotted, the uniform was black coloured with the fern on the right side of the T-Shirts and pants. The sound of excitement from the supporters was horrendous, it brought so much happiness. As the New Zealand Athletes were entering through the entrance I was proud to see all the brave contestants that were brave and proud enough to represent New Zealand. As they were circling the stadium the supporters and I were cheering our loudest, we cheered our loudest to show our support and trust that we are right back behind them supporting them. I loved the way our athletes were so happy and excited to see our support all the way from where we were sitting, which is what made me cheer for them even louder was seeing them happy from our support by being present and cheering them on.

  1. This is a great story, Caroline. I would be right there with you cheering our athletes on and showing them my support. I think that they are incredible people. Many of our athletes work full-time and then train for their sport on the side. It must be exhausting to try and maintain a high standard in their training while also working and, in some cases, raising a family at the same time. Amazing!

When I was driving to work this morning I passed a school called 'Lynfield College.' It is in the western part of Auckland and there was a huge sign out the front of the school congratulating one of their students for making the Rugby Sevens team for the upcoming Rio Olympics. It's pretty exciting to think that a girl from our neighbourhood is going to Rio. Wow!

Do you know anyone who is going to Rio this year to compete?

    Cheers, Rachel :)
