Day 6 - Activity 1
Activity 1 - For all Olympic opening and closing ceremonies, the athletes from each country must wear a special uniform. The uniforms change each year. Look at the 3 pictures posted below. They are pictures of the uniforms that our New Zealand Olympic teams wore in 2012, 2008 and 2004. For this activity, you are asked to rank the uniforms from best (#1) to worst (#3). On your blog post your rankings and provide a brief explanation of why you ranked the uniforms in that order.
- New Zealand Team Uniform – London Olympics 2012
(#3) The reason why I say this is the worst because the patterns printed on the uniforms are very childish and plain. The girls uniform is nice but not suitable for the occasion they are going to.
- New Zealand Team Uniform – Beijing Olympics 2008
(#2) I pick this as the second best because this has a lot of details about New Zealand. Also this one looks neat but for the girls they should wear something better instead of a shit.
- New Zealand Olympic Team Uniform – Athens Olympics 2004
(#1) This is the best because it has more details about New Zealand. I like this uniform the best because the Maori lady looks smart and neat. She looks smart and neat because New Zealand is Maori and she's representing clothes in Maori.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your post and your reasons for rating the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympic uniforms in the order that you did. You have clearly thought a lot about it and come up with very good reasons for you choices. Nicely done!
I can definitely see what you mean when you suggest that the 2012 uniform didn't really 'fit the purpose' of the games. It is a bit strange to think that the women would wear a dress when they are likely to be competing in a t-shirt or singlet. Good thinking!
